Hockey for Life Benefit for Lifeshare in Oklahoma City

The Event—Hockey For Life.

The Place— Blazers Ice Center.

The Date—-Saturday, July 23rd.

This will be a 12-14 hr event, starting at 2pm. A LOT of hockey is going to be played. If you have been going through withdrawals of the greatest sport on ice, here is a great way to cool off in the Oklahoma heat!!

There will be an open/public skate between 6 and 8 pm for everyone!

Food, games, beer ( I hope) , and good times will be had by all. NOT to mention, this is for a great, great cause that everyone should support! Raffle and auction items are in the works as well.

This event is to lend  support to a group called LifeShare. They are the non profit group that takes care of organ donation and transplant services here in Oklahoma. Event organiser Nick Feehart holds a  close place in his heart to this organization, losing his first wife, Tiffani Joy Mashore-Fleehart, in an automobile accident. Her family and Nick decided to donate all of her organs. LifeShare was there and helped Nick find something positive out of a tragic event.

Organ Donation just hit close to the hockey community as well. Just recently one of the best USA goalie prospects, Ian Jenkins, passed away this week in a freak accident at 15 years old. His parents decided to donate his organs.

All the proceeds raised during this event will go to LifeShare.

Recruiting for 80 players and 8 goalies (and we would love to have the youth kids come out and play too) is going on NOW! Sign up form is here. Each player will be responsible for raising $100 dollars. This will be a 12 hour marathon game where these 8 teams will rotate in and out. There will be a break/public skate from 6pm to 8pm that will allow all the non hockey players to get on the ice and have some fun.

Numbered jerseys have already been donated, so every player will get their own jersey to keep. We are working on other things to place in the “players bags” as well. Please let me know if your interested.

In addition to the hockey games there will be other things that people can take part in. Please come out and join us !

If you are a business/other that would like to help to donate food, drinks or to the money raising itself, please contact OklahomaGladiators@yahoo.com or @GladiatorsHocky

*Iguana Grill Rib CribHootersLittle Caesars have all donated food for the event!!

Up for raffle will be a Jager hockey jersey and several hats…………………….
