The Sooners have had relative success the past couple weeks, coming into this set of weekend games with a 7th place ranking and an 8-4-0 record. OU is returning to the state after traveling to a set of games against Arizona State. ASU took both games, defeating the Sooners 5-1 and 6-3, helping perhaps to ease the sting of the Sooners knocking them out of the 2010-11 Nationals. Oklahoma will be looking forward to their own payback when ASU comes to OKC in January for a pair of games. The Sooners recently came home with a 2-1 record while at the ACHA D1 Tourney in Springfield, Il, with wins against then-No. 1 Davenport and No. 5 Adrian, a loss to No. 3 Ohio. Arizona State was the only team to go undefeated at the ACHA Showcase, defeating Delaware, Liberty and Kent State.
In between the two sets of games, OU played two against their in state rival UCO, in the first two of six games between the teams in the regular season. Always a great showing of fans and hockey, the Sooners again skated away with both wins, 7-3 and 4-2. Oklahoma is now 23-4-0 all-time against UCO.
If you can’t attend the OU game this weekend, you can still listen online wire.ou.edu. The Wire is broadcasting all home games this year.
