Sooners return home for 3 **UPDATE**

After a long month of waiting for OU hockey fans, the boys are back in action starting Thursday night when they faceoff against #19 Rutgers University (4-4-0). (As of this writing, the game has not yet been cancelled due to travel problems from Hurricane Sandy) Rutgers already had to cancel Sunday’s game against Delaware due to the storm, but did defeat the defending champions Delaware the previous night 7-4.

Thursday nights game HAS been cancelled due to damage and travel problems caused by the hurricane Sandy.

“Please join the Sooners in hoping that Rutgers and all other ACHA programs affected by Hurricane Sandy are doing as well as possible under very trying circumstances.”

                                                                                                                                          -Oklahoma Hockey

The Friday and Saturday games will feature the #8 Lindenwood Lions (2-4-2), always a great rival game. The #6 Sooners (7-3-1) traveled to Missouri for two against the Lions last weekend, spitting the wins, the Sooners taking a 3-0 shut out. The previous road trip to #1 Ohio (10-0) left the Sooners without a win, dropping both games that were actually very close.

Freshman Jordan Greenburg leads the ACHA in short-handed goals (5) and leads the Sooners with 16 points, 8G – 8A. Tender Colin Fernandes claimed his second shut out of the season in the Lindenwood win. Oklahoma is 5-1 on home ice so far this season.

Thursday and Friday’s games start at 7:30. Saturday’s matchup starts at 4pm!

The much anticipated 10th season Anniversary jerseys WILL BE UNVEILED in this series of home games!! Don’t miss out!
