Oklahoma Hockey to accept donations for Tornado victims.

This Friday and Saturday, the Sooners hockey team hosts the Fighting Illini. Due to the recent tornados in Illinois, the team has decided they want to help however they can. Many players and staff are still affected by the May tornados in Oklahoma and recall the immediate assistance needed for the families. 16 tornados impacted towns in Illinois alone, leaving 6 dead, and 1,000’s displaced. Many of the communities hit were small rural towns.

Temperatures are dropping, expecting to be in the 20’s over the weekend. Warm clothes, food, and materials to block the wind and snow is desperately needed in these communities. While we can’t send these items themselves at the present time, we can send the funds to purchase the tarps, wood and other supplies.

Come to the Blazers Ice Center for some great hockey and stop by the OU Hockey Booster table to make a donation to the tornado victims. We have many ways set up to help as many communities as possible.

Item requested and appreciated:

Visa, Mastercard, American Express Gift Cards.

Restaurant/store gift cards. (Most eateries around the areas are McDonald’s, Subway, Burger King) other cards requested: Walmart, Shell, Berkot’s, Menard’s, Target, Walgreens, Home Depot or Ace Hardware.
