Sooners sweep the Razorbacks in home opener

After a disappointing end to the season at Nationals last year, the Oklahoma Sooners took the ice this past weekend with a renewed sense of self. Not that an appearance at the “Frosty Four” is anything to shake a stick at!

The Sooners defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks (DIII) 4-2 on Friday night and then lit the barn up on Saturday afternoon, with a 9-2 win. Staying out of the box really helped the Sooners not get into any sticky situations. There was a marked improvement on the ice from Friday to Saturday’s game, the Razorbacks just not able to keep up with OU on Saturday.

The #4 Sooners welcome #5 Iowa State this weekend (Oct. 3rd and 4th) to the BIC. In the season opener in Ames, the Sooners & Cyclones each walked away with a win for the weekend. This matchup is always an interesting battle and being ranked 4th and 5th in the ACHA makes it a bit more important for both teams.
