Although pulling out the win on Friday, Lindenwood completely dominated Oklahoma on Saturday.

The Lions were looking for their first win of the season and came out hard and fast against Oklahoma all weekend with no let up. Both days, the Lions jumped to a 3-0 lead over the Sooners in the first period.

On Friday, the Sooners jumped back in the game in the second, with goals from Mico Solorzano and two from Tyler Jones to tie it up. Jordan Greenberg put two more past Lions’ Cody Karpinski to make the final 5-3 for the Oklahoma win.

Friday’s loss didn’t affect Lindenwood on Saturday. The Lions would go on to beat the Sooners 8-1. Taylor Herndon was the lone goal scorer for OU in the second period, minutes after Coach Arvantis pulled starter Cooper Cook and put Colin Fernandes in net. Fernandes gave up three of his own goals. Lindenwood’s Rock Einerson was a one man wrecking crew and came away with a hat trick, plus two in the stomping.

Oct. 17th (AU), 18th (ASU), and 19th (ASU), Oklahoma will play its first WCHL conference games, hosting #17 Arizona and ACHA Champions, #1 Arizona State. It will be another big weekend to test Oklahoma. Last year, Arizona defeated OU in two games and OU also lost a heartbreaker to ASU that weekend, in OT.  Hopefully the Sooners will not go 0-3 this year.
