New Year, New Semester.

IMG_7438Before the winter break for the ACHA, the Sooners took on their crosstown rival, University of Central Oklahoma, for two games. The first game, in Edmond, the Sooners shut up a rowdy UCO crowd on a remarkable tying goal by Corey Ramsey with 10 seconds left in regulation. OU went on to win the game 4-3 in the shootout, scored by Jordan Greenberg. The Bronchos would get their revenge however at the Blazers Ice Center on Saturday, snapping OU’s 5 game win streak, 8-2. Taylor Herndon and Patrick Grace were the lone scorers for the Sooners. The disastrous game racked up 108 penalty minutes total, OU winning that competition with 57 minutes spent in the box of shame.

The start of the new semester leaves OU (15-5-2) ranked #6, UCO (20-2-1) #2. Arizona State (22-2-0) remains in the #1 spot. The Sooners will start off on the road in Arizona the weekend of January 8th, playing Arizona State, then Arizona on the 9th and 10th.  They won’t be back to the BIC until January 22nd when they host Colorado, Colorado State the 23rd and 24th. The month of January finishes up on the road at Illinois.
